WPGC 95.5 Presents: The 17th Annual For Sisters Only was a high energy and entertaining event. The event was held Sat. Nov. 5th at the Walter E Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC.
This event was packed. DJ Akademiks had the music pumping and the vendors were selling their products in record time. From on the spot weaves, smoothies, life insurance to tee-shirts, Barefoot Wine, there was something for everyone.
Executive Producer of the Joe Clair Morning, Poet, was the MC and she had the attendees laughing and fully engaged. Her interview of Rotimi (Dre on POWER) had the women drooling for more.
I was happy to see WPGC bring out their on-air radio hosts from the shows. Joe Clair, Sunni, Steph Lova, Guy Lambert, DJ Flexx, and our very own Adimu made it to the stage. In addition to this, the main draw for this mostly ladies only crowd was performances by an all male line up.
Ro James, Rotimi, Lloyd, Mario, Jidenna, TANK and the Backyard Band was who the crowd really came to see and they were not disappointed.
I also had the opportunity to give a $100 check to Kesha of NCHWOW, NeShante’ and Chloe House Without Walls from the proceeds of my book sales. The NCHWOW Foundation was founded in March 2016 in response to the tragic loss of two of our family members. NeShante’ Davis and her daughter Chloe’ Davis were both full of life and lived life to the fullest.
Overall, It was a great event that is perfect for girlfriends to make it a day in DC or event for couples looking to shop and enjoy a concert.
The one here in Atlanta is really good. I went one time and I got so much out of it that I had to take some days to process it all. Love when women can come together like this
Amen! I was able to support women entrepreneurs and purchase their items. That was the best part for me.
