Years in Business

10 Years for CNPR, 2 for Women Who Hustle and few months for The CRWN Agency

Where is your target market location? DC, Chicago, Etc.?

Definitely in the DC area since I live here, but I have a huge network that spans worldwide.

Who is your target audience?

I would say definitely women since I started Women Who Hustle, but I do have a small male audience as well.

What’s the “Why” behind your businesses?

Just wanting to make my Mommy proud. Well her and my family, but especially her because she sacrificed so much for me.

How will people benefit from an experience with you?

It’s a one of a kind experience! It’s an authentic one and I don’t think anything can be better than that!

You started several new businesses in 2017. Tell us more about them.

The CRWN Agency is the newest baby and it’s a consulting agency that is designed for the “Hustlin’ Creative”. I know that not everyone has a large budget for PR, so I decided to create a solution! They can still work with me, but just in a different capacity but in one that will continue to develop them or their brand. Other businesses are to be determined but will definitely happen!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Running several six figure businesses and being a full time speaker, having a family and enjoying life.

Who inspires you and why?

My Mommy inspires me, as I stated for my “why”. Business wise, I would say, Jennifer Lopez, Queen Latifah, and Wendy Williams. All of them are serial business owners and there isn’t anything that has stopped them. They are always re-inventing themselves and I admire that.

Any advice for those who want to become an entrepreneur?

I always pride myself on keeping it real funky when it comes to becoming an Entrepreneur. It’s not for everyone. You need thick skin, to be okay with hearing “no”, to be okay with missing sleep, missing family/friend events + much more. However, it is the most rewarding journey you will go on if that is what you desire. I would encourage someone interested in becoming an Entrepreneur, to speak with other Entrepreneurs. Also, read books about what it will take to be successful when embarking on that journey.

Any advice for those who feel like they are stuck?

I actually just did a webinar about this and it was titled “Get Out of Your Own Way: Stop Thinking Too Much and ACT!” So yes, that is exactly what you need to do. Get out of your own way, look at your “WHY”. Also look at why you’re allowing yourself to be “stuck” because you’re doing a disservice to yourself and others who need your expertise.

Have you ever had to deal with negative people since becoming an entrepreneur? If so, how do you handle them?

Oh absolutely! I deal with those types all of the time and honestly, I just ignore them. Once I find out they are negative, I will make sure to never have them around me again. I operate off energy, so in a way, I never deal with too many “Negative Nancy’s” because I don’t attract those types of people. However, some will find their way and they will be politely escorted somewhere else 🙂

If you could give your 18-year-old self advice, what would it be?

Be the FIRST. When you have an idea, MOVE ON IT.

Share a quote/scripture/song that motivates you?

“You’re can only be as great as you are when you believe in yourself”
