The Tom Joyner Morning Show and the Power of Intention

Posted on Posted in Embracing Life

This morning, I am sitting here on my deck listening to the birds chirping, still in awe of the goings-on over the last few days. If you haven’t heard already, I had the awesome opportunity to be interviewed on the Tom Joyner Morning Show about the recent string of celebrity divorces that are headlining entertainment news and what could be done to save these marriages. To hear them call me a relationship expert and a Celebrity Wife Coach, was humbling.

Why am I sharing this with you? Well, I want to stress the importance of being intentional in life. While I was creating my vision board last year, I prayed and declared things over my life that I wanted to achieve. Every item I put on my board had a purpose – to provide me opportunities to bless other people. Every day, I read my board out loud and pray for guidance regarding the items on it.

Right before I left for my trip to Jamaica, I looked at the picture of Tom Joyner on my vision board and for a few minutes I stared at it, wondered why I even put him on there and then for a brief moment, considered taking his picture off of it.

After that moment passed, I told God, “Look, I don’t know how I will connect with Tom Joyner or if he would even be interested in my book, but I believe you had me put him on my board for a reason.”

I went to Jamaica and looked at the picture of my vision board on my phone daily (Steve Harvey has his vision board on his phone too), still wondering why in the world I had his picture on it.

My 2016 Vision Board

Who knew, one week after returning from vacation, I would receive an email from the Tom Joyner Morning Show, asking me if I could give my relationship expertise on the show the very next morning. I was in shock and was shaking for about 2 hours. Needless to say, I am so glad I didn’t allow doubt to have me take his picture off my vision board.

The women who have texted, emailed and signed up on my website for relationship coaching was overwhelming. I am thankful my book and coaching is blessing not only the women who now have access to me but also it will be a blessing to their marriages and families; all because I chose to not quit, believe God’s promises to me and to put in the hard work it takes to be successful.

The beautiful thing about this story is that I received another email from them asking me if I would be interested in being a guest again as the Celebrity Wife Coach.

WOW! The power of intention is beyond explanation but so necessary to getting the job done. The beauty of it all is that I get to do this again!

That’s how my God works. Ephesians 3:30 (NLT) Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
