5 Ways To Make Time for Your Boo During the Holidays- Part 2

In my last post, I shared my first tip to make time for your Boo during the holidays. The second tip is just as important as the first to ensure your Boo feels like he is a priority.

Tip #2

Plan Your Time Alone – Get a planner or a calendar. I have both. We keep a dry-erase board calendar on our bedroom wall and I keep a planner in my purse. At the end of every month, we put everything on the calendar for the next month and work out a date night, afternoon or morning. This way we both see it. There have been times when I erased a few things and he has too, to ensure we could get in our planned time with each other. We also use Google calendar and share our events. This way, he can see on his phone what I have and vice versa.

This is especially important to do during the holidays too. If you plan your time together, you will make time for each other. Look ladies, we only have about 2 weeks.  From the week before the crazy shopping days until New Years Eve parties, time can and does get away from us. Before we know it, it is back to work and into the groove of things again. Make sure to plan something, even if it to meet at a local restaurant to eat appetizers at the bar. Bundle up and go for a walk while the kids to their homework. Get up early and fix breakfast together while the kids are still sleep. Even plan your intimate time.

  1. My husband did this for me! As soon as I finished my last exam, he snatched me up for a “just us” vacation. We hadn’t done that outside of the country in more than six years.

  2. We share our icals and plan that way. Right now the way our life is set up, our us time happens on Saturday when we go grocery shopping and leave the kids at home.

  3. Planning quality alone time is so important, especially around the holidays when life seems the craziest. We are very diligent about trying to schedule date nights a month in advance, so we can get childcare. I love your idea of scheduling some alone time early in the morning while the kids are still sleeping.

  4. Since we don’t celebrate the Christmas holiday, its gonna be straight boo time this whole weekend. I’m really looking forward to it!

  5. This is great advice. We do not plan our date nights. We are more on the spontaneous side. We have date nights pretty often for a couple with a 5 yr old.
